biography
Ann Grasso
For more than twenty-five years, Ann Grasso has carved a niche in the design profession by combining building review and interior planning expertise. Creating livable, workable, and profitable spaces is the hallmark of her firm. Benefiting from a unique background of study and practice in the fine arts, architecture, interior design, and business, Grasso believes it is the inter-disciplinary approach which has set her firm apart. Opening her own design studio in 1981 after receiving the highest National award given by NKBA, the James H. Foster, JR., CKD Memorial Silver Bowl Award, she determined to offer both full design services through AE·Grasso Spatial Design Consultants, and consultation by the hour with a second business venture called design INSIGHTS. Prior to these endeavors, Grasso worked as a lighting consultant, manager of a home center, and as a designer for kitchen and bath showrooms. Grasso also designs such specialty items as furniture, cabinetry, storage systems, and entertainment centers. Nationally recognized, Grasso is a lecturer/teacher of design concepts and a judge for design competitions around the country. Her work - both residential and commercial - has been published in a variety of shelter magazines. She is a contributing columnist for American HomeStyle. Known for planning for the future as well as the present, Grasso is recognized for her ability to achieve design goals meeting a wide spectrum of aesthetic tastes. From traditional to contemporary, her work reflects the clients' taste interpreted with proportion and scale. Peter Norris
